Who knew two days could rejuvenate your life?! I recently took a trip to a small town in Northern California called Carmel by the Sea. And yes, it was as fantastical as it sounds. What's better is that I had the pleasure of taking a good ol' road trip in a cozy little Volkswagon with my two fave bloggers Vic of Vic Styles and Kristin from Style Wax Poetic. A full collaborative Spotify list and about 6 hours (from LA) later we pulled into a town that was so reminiscent of a Twilight movie. We stayed at Hofsas House - a cute cottage style hotel on the cliff of a hill. What made Hofsa's House so special was the fact that every room was different in decor. The room I was in had the most nostalgic pink floral wall paper that made it irresistible to shoot on. Funny thing is that I'm pretty sure my entire studio apartment could fit into the room we stayed in.
While in Carmel, we did what everyone does on vacation - eat, drink, and aimlessly roam to whatever tourist spot we could find. The town was a complete dream; every store front had a wooden sign, we footed brick sidewalks and were stumped to see NO street lights in the town. My favorite part was the plentiful list of wineries, which of course, we indulged in at De Tierra and Scheid. The most breathtaking part of the town was absolutely the beach. I felt like I was on an episode of Big Little Lies lol. The little escape was exactly what I needed to escape the craziness of LA and it goes to show that you don't have to go far to find magic near you. Here's to a perfect getaway to the perfect town with perfect people!
