Today is the first day of March (yes, March, already) which not only marks a quarter of the year being gone, but my birthday as well. To be honest, I've been in the dumps about not going to Dubai as originally planned for my Golden birthday, which I take very seriously (a Golden Birthday is the day that you turn the number of you birthday, e.g. I'm turning 28 on the 28th). However, as I thought about what a first world problem that is & how spoiled I was acting, I realized I need to do something for myself that will allow me to realize how blessed I am for God allowing me to see another year.
So, I thought how perfect of a way to count my blessings, but to minimize and declutter all of the unnecessary junk I've collected over these 28 (lawd Jesus) years. And shall do so with this 30 Day Minimalism Challenge. Everyday, I will follow this little calendar of tasks to minimize my life, stripping my mind, habits, and even house, of extra stuff.
I'm really excited and scared at the same time of doing this because when you strip down to bare minimum, yes you can make life easier, however can also uncover some (scary) things you were hiding with all that extra stuff. So, I will try over the next 30 days to document how I am doing on the minimalism challenge and would love for you to join. I will more than likely document on my Instagram page and will use the hashtag #30DayMinimalismChallenge. Can't wait for the results - see you in 30!
...And as we have it...reading is SO fundamental. Day 1 is take a day offline, so for morales sake I will switch Day 1 and Day 4. After all, it's a minimalism challenge not a perfectionism challenge - right? right??
'Til next time Dolls!
